El lunes realizamos un hangout on air con la Universidad de Tijuana. Los hangouts sirven para realizar videoconferencias y a la vez transmitirlas en vivo por Youtube, además de quedar grabadas para compartir. Así lo hicimos con la cátedra de Modalidades Educativas de la carrera de Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Educación de la Universidad de Tijuana, Sede en La Paz, en el Estado de Baja California.
El contacto nació de una propuesta de la profesora de dicha cátedra, la Licenciada María Celeste Cortella, profesional de la Argentina que desde hace 12 años reside en México. La cátedra pertenece al último tramo de carrera de Ciencias de la Educación en la Universidad de Tijuana.
Tuvimos una extensa conversación de casi una hora de duración, con algunos cortes por la conexión a Internet y en algunos casos cierto retardo en el audio o la imagen. Pero más allá de eso, valoramos la experiencia por la posibilidad de conectarnos en temas que nos interesan, establecer un contacto internacional, interuniversitario, sin dejar de lado la -aún hoy- emoción que provoca encontrarse en vivo con personas a la distancia, y compartirlo en red de manera abierta.
No invitamos previamente a que otras personas lo sigan en vivo por youtube, porque no estábamos seguros de que el hangout fuese a funcionar a la perfección. Nuestro plan B era utilizar Skype para conversar, pero lo usamos sólo para la planificación previa, y debido a que comprobamos que medianamente funcionaba la conexión, nos animamos a grabar y abrir el juego on line.
El encuentro en sí giró en torno a preguntas que habían preparado los alumnos (yo las desconocía) y fueron desde la educación a distancia, hasta el papel de los medios masivos y la inclusión de tecnologías de la información y comunicación en el aula con niños.
Un agradecimiento especial a Ma. Celeste por habilitar la oportunidad y a todos los alumnos por la energía positiva puesta en esta clase desamurallada.

Interesante aportación de Pablo Bongiovanni, de como la videoconferencia es una opción pedagógica muy eficaz para generar el dialogo, no importando las barreras de tiempo y espacio, teniendo en cuenta de como la tecnología juega un papel preponderante en la educación, facilitando procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje, pero todo ello debe venir acompañado de procesos de reflexión, análisis y así poder emitir juicios y por consecuencia tomar decisiones que justifiquen su uso adecuado dentro de las aulas.
